Character:

Golden Snitch de Haute Volée (aka Seeker) is the perfect puppy for our large pack – he’s peace keeper, rabble rouser, and clown in equal measure. He gets along with other dogs incredibly well using his own perfect blend of playful and respectful.
Seeker’s powerful and FAST. Oh, my, is he fast. Brakes? Not so much installed yet, LOL. He’s incredibly well-muscled and well put together for a 1-year-old teenaged hooligan. He’s coordinated and loves to test the limits of his strength, speed, and agility.
Seeker’s also smart, learning tricks and new things with great attention and excitement. Agility is our primary sport and he’s got lovely nuance with his techniques already. And his toy play is coming along extremely well – “fighting” while tugging is his absolute fave! But Seeker will also do dock diving (with Tim), some disc (with Tim and Rachel) and tracking (with Tim). At least to start!

Character:

Remix (Play It Again de Haute Volée) is my dream dog, my healer, and my whole heart. He knew before I knew (or accepted it!) that he was supposed to be mine. He’s everything a Belgian should be: driven, environmentally stable, biddable, appropriately balanced between respectful and playful with dogs of any size or age, protective when the time is right, immensely intelligent, thrives with precise rules for his behavior in and out of drive, is always wagging, and, on top of everything else, he’s a gigantic mama’s boy. While his personality is well-fitted to just about anything, we’re training in obedience, nosework, freestyle disc, and agility. I am overjoyed every day to be his partner.

When describing Loaki, my 1 year old male Belgian, the words that come to mind are: Strong, fast, athletic, powerful, and competitive.  He is also very sweet, affectionate and  loyal, loves his people most, but is accepting of all strangers. Loaki is so much fun to work, wants to do it as fast and accurately as possible to get his reward.  Loaki LOVES his toys, loves to tug, fetch or just carry it around.  Food is fine, but often the treats are found on the floor after a game of tug (so he must store them in his mouth instead of swallowing them).  He is reliable and stable, but will push the limits to do things his way (because he obviously knows better) He is very responsive and easy to live with – although we do a lot in a day….

He enjoys a good swim and can often be found at the edge of the pond with his toy just cooling down.   His presence is undeniable – with his big male head and confident stance.  We are totally in love with him!

Where do I start with Firefly?
I was very nervous about bringing in such a large dog into the condo.  And even more anxious about integrating with the existing pack of littles, one of which who has a strong dislike for other dogs.  He would be my first puppy in twenty years, and well, it was a lot to take in. But with the support of Derede and Rob, Tracy and Rush, and experiences with Melissa and her own Dasher, I felt confident that I could make it work.
I think the key word in everything is “work”.  Boy does Fire LOVE to work.  He’s a strong-willed boy, but one who is able to put all that aside when it is time to actually get to work.  But at the same time, when we are supposed to relax, he can turn it off (for a time).  He is polar opposites from my existing dogs when working: so much so that I need to constantly remind myself that I need to push him more; he can fail and he does not give up.
He is powerful.  He’s got drive. He is handsome. He understands boundaries.  He loves all people.  He has a healthy respect for other dogs and will play if allowed — ignore if required. Cars, bikes, scooters, emergency vehicles: They are just normal things in his world. Despite his prey drive, he knows the littles are just that, and knows not to accidentally crush them. He’s got a gorgeous tail that says “LOOK AT ME”. And boy does Fire love to fly.
He is Fire to me. Waffle to everyone else. Fire Waffle by compromise.
The plan with him was to do agility, and he has taken to the sport in a fashion that just blows my mind.  He loves (lives?) to tug. He loves disc as well. A lot.  A lot a lot.
The future is bright with this one and I could NOT be happier and love him any more than I already do.
He’s a perfect match for our pack.

Tarot is my sleek mahogany shadow. She has the most amazing “let’s do this!” attitude, and firmly believes that anything worth trying is worth throwing yourself into 110%. She has this amazing ability to be what everyone needs – respectful to our elderly Lab, bratty to the middle-aged Aussie, and fiercely loving to our toddler. But also, it’s always her turn and you best not forget it!
Tarot has decided that agility is the best game ever. We are working hard to harness her raw talent and blazing speed to become a harmonious team, and she picks up new skills with ease. She tugs like a maniac, settles quickly, and wants to do ALL THE THINGS. We are working on our obedience basics around the edges. She loves her scent articles – a gift from her daddy! We are learning so much together and having a blast.
